CULTIVATION AREA
The Pinot Gris comes from several parcels, which are mainly to be found in the loam and loess loam location of Mußbacher Eselshaut. The vines are all over 20 years old. The deep-reaching roots provide the grapes with water and nutrients even in the dry and hot summer months, so that high-quality grapes can be harvested in September.

GRAPES
100% Pinot Gris

WINEMAKING
The Pinot Gris vineyards are only picked by hand for this wine. This allows the quality of the grapes to be optimally controlled. There, after the juice has been in contact with the aromatic and dark skins, the grapes are gently pressed and the must is clarified overnight through natural sedimentation. Then it flows under pressure into the cellar, where it ferments in a controlled manner. The aging takes place partly in a large wooden barrel made of Palatinate oak and partly in a stainless steel tank.

RECOMMENDED FOOD
Mediterranean cuisine, tarte flambée, fresh seafood, white meat, pasta with soft sauces, fresh salads with seasonal herbs.

TASTING NOTES
Pinot Gris Stolleis:
Pinot Gris does not deny its origin on the nose and convinces with spicy and fruity notes. On the palate, nutty and yellow-fruity aromas are accompanied by a fine minerality. The harmoniously integrated acidity is refreshing and leads to an excellent drinking flow.

LABEL
The label is the result of a collaboration with the Lebanese comic artist and illustrator Joseph Kai, who created this drawing after the explosion of the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020.

For the Lebanese this is one of the saddest and most painful events they have ever experienced.
Joseph, who mostly touches sensitive topics through his art, has his emotions in his work and this work of art was created in response to such an unfortunate event.

I
n this picture you can see a black cat roaming around with the destroyed port of Beirut in the background.
After more than a year after the explosion, the Lebanese wounds have still not healed and there is still no justice or answers to what happened.

Through this cooperation we show the Lebanese people our full support in their pursuit of justice and happiness and deference for all victims.
