ABOUT WINE ESTATE IXSIR
Ixsir is a Lebanese wine company founded in 2008. It entered the Lebanese market in 2010 and quickly became the fastest growing winery in the Lebanese and export markets.
IXSIR's vineyards are cultivated with a view to sustainable agriculture and extend over the mountains of Lebanon on clayey limestone and limestone soils from Batroun to Jezzine. You benefit from microclimates that can only be found in Lebanon. The vineyards of IXSIR peak at an altitude of 1,800 meters, making them the highest in the northern hemisphere.
IXSIR's winery uses 75% less energy than any other winery in the world and is built on different levels so that wine can be made using the gravity fermentation method.
Although the winery is just outside Batroun in northern Lebanon, IXSIR's vineyards stretch from north to south of Lebanon and aim to promote sustainable agriculture by helping more than 250 farmer families to stay on their land.
